Lorac Pro 2 Palette: Look #3

This is going to be my third and final look with the Lorac Pro 2 Palette. I'm really enjoying using it alot and like I've said before, the looks you can create are endless!

I first primed my eyes like always, then I started out by placing the color Silver on the inner half of my lids. Since I wanted to go out of my neutral comfort zone, I took Navy and placed that on the outer half of my lids and gently through my crease. I then, very lightly, took Lt. Brown and blended that through my crease. You can barely tell it's there, but I wanted it to be very subtle. I mixed together Buff and Snow as my highlight, added mascara and I was done! I can't remember which mascara I used, but I don't like how it makes my lashes look here. I do however, really like how the shadows look together! I probably could've blended a little more, but hey, I'm no professional! Just a girl who's obsessed with makeup ;)

Have you guys checked out the Pro 2 Palette yet?

Lorac Pro 2 Palette: Look #2

Hey everyone! Here is my second look from the Lorac Pro 2 Palette. I'm having so much fun with this little baby and I'm really glad I bought it. There are endless looks! Make sure to check out my review of this palette here. Anyways, here we go:

I like how the taupe-y gray colors look in this palette, so those were the focus. I started out with Chrome and used that all over the lid, up to the crease. I then took Cool Gray and blended that through my crease. I mixed the colors Buff and Snow an used that as my highlight. I took a little bit extra of Buff and blended out any harsh lines. I finished off with mascara and I was set. This turned out more neutral than I thought so my third and last look I'm going to post has a little more color involved :)

What do you guys think of this palette?

Review + Look: Lorac Pro 2 Palette

Hey everyone! When I hauled this palette a few posts back, I was so excited to try it out! The original Lorac Pro Palette is one of my favorite palettes ever and when I heard they were coming out with a second one, I knew it would be mine at some point. First off the casing is pretty much the same as the original in feel and look, this one is just a gray color instead of black. The whole top row are matte shades and the bottom are shimmer. This palette is more on the cool side with the shades here. It also came with a sample size of their Behind the Scenes Eye Primer. If I remember correctly, the original palette also came with this primer. The Pro 2 Palette retails for $42 and can be found at Ulta and Lorac's website.

Look at this beauty! I was so excited when I opened this up and really wanted to play with it, but I held back and took some pictures first. At first glance, to me the colors all go nicely together and I automatically put colors together in my head of looks I wanted to do. I'm posting my favorite look I've done so far at the end, so stay tuned!

Now I didn't do swatches of these, so forgive me! When I was taking these pictures, it was early on in the day and my lighting seemed to make the colors look true to what they are in person. Instead of describing each one, I'm just going to say my favorites in each section.

I first noticed Lt. Brown. I thought this would be an amazing crease color.

Nectar is also a great crease color, which surprised me. Definitely more peach toned than Lt. Brown, but when I used it in my crease, it just made my whole look come together nicely.

Rose is just freaking beautiful! I can't get enough of this color and it's going to be in the look I post here!

I'm digging pretty much every color in this section, but Navy really intrigued me. I'm not the biggest fan of blues on my eyes, but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked. I'll be posting a look with this color and Silver later.

Chrome is amazing to me! It's  like a taupey grayish color and looks beautiful on the eyes.

Onto the look...

I primed my eyes as usual, then took the Rose color and used it all over my eyelids up to the crease. I then took Nectar and blended that into my crease. I took a little bit of Cocoa to define the outer corner of my eyes a bit and finished off with mascara. I don't know why I forgot to highlight, but oh well. I must've been a little excited and just didn't remember to! Aside from a couple mascara smudges, I absolutely love how this look came out! Nectar was such a surprisingly great crease shade and I can't wait to use it more. Rose, oh Rose, how beautiful you are! If I had to pick one shade that's my favorite in the whole palette, Rose would be the winner. It's just gorgeous!

If you only buy one palette this entire year, have it be this one! You have your neutrals for everyday and then go to some fun colors for nights out or when you're feeling fancy. I'm just so in love with this baby and have been using it almost everytime I've done my makeup. Seriously, I haven't been this excited over an eyeshadow palette since Urban Decay brought out Naked 3.

Review: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder

Hi everyone! I know I've mentioned this Too Faced Bronzer on my blog before, but realized I didn't have a proper review on it! There are a million other reviews on this product, but I still wanted to do my own.

This particular one I have pictured came in a set, and have yet to use, with a full sized Better Than Sex Mascara, which I have yet to try. This size bronzer is 0.14 ounces and a full sized bronzer is 0.35 ounces. The one I'm currently using is 0.08 ounces and that came in a kit with a small brush. I know the sizes can get confusing, but the ones in kits are alot smaller, and I think a better price, especially when you're getting more products. The price of the full size is a whopping $30. The one pictured here was only $23 along with the mascara. The smaller size I'm currently using was only $15 with the brush included. If you're a fan of this bronzer already and can't get enough, the $30 price tag may be worth it. For someone like me, who doesn't use bronzer on a daily basis, you may just want to get a kit that has a smaller size in. That way you get to try out other Too Faced products too! I purchased all the ones I have at Sephora.

This Chocolate Soleil Bronzer comes in two different shades. The one pictured and the smaller one I have is in the Medium/Deep shade. There is a lighter shade called Light/Medium. when I had first bought the kit with the brush, I was worried that it would be too dark for my fair skin. I've mentioned before that I'm super pale, so bronzers can look really weird on my skin. When I tried this out for the first time I used the Real Techniques Contour Brush and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it! It blends out incredibly easily and looks really nice with my fair skin. I am tempted to try the lighter version of this, but I don't think they use that one in kits. All the ones I've seen have this darker version.

Overall, I really do like this bronzer! I still consider myself a bronzer newbie since I don't use it everyday and I also haven't branched out much to other brands. If you have fair skin like I do, don't be afraid to use this! Like I said above, it blends out really well, but if you are still afraid, just use a light hand and blend, blend, blend. Also, the fact that it smells like a chocolate bar helps alot too!

Have you tried this bronzer before?

July 2014 Ipsy Bag

Hey everyone! I got my Ipsy bag in the mail the other day, so it's time to share what I got! I was excited for this month when Ipsy posted sneak peeks on Facebook, but was slightly disappointed in the products I ended up receiving. This month's theme is called Sensationally Sunkissed so lets see what I got!

Now I love and hate the bag at the same time. I love it because it's a bright hot pink, my favorite color. I hate it because it's probably the cheapest feeling material I've ever felt in my life.  I mean seriously, the zipper is coming apart in one area and it feels so flimsy. Cute concept with the pink and scalloped edges, just cheap looking!

Onto the products! The first product I have here is the Purlisse Pur Protect Essential Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30. I can definitely appreciate a sun care product that provides a good SPF but this is for normal to dry skin so I most definitely can't use it, especially in Summer. I can maybe save it for the dead of Winter when my skin is drier, but I'm not sure if it will work for me.

Next up is the Models Own Nail Polish in the color Red Sea. Honestly, I'm pretty tired of receiving nail polishes in these bags. I haven't done my nails in ages and I don't really care for polishes that have chunks of sparkle or glitter.

Then we have the Pixi Beauty Mini Tinted Brilliance Balm in the color Unique Pink. I haven't tried this yet, but it smells just like peppermint tea, and I find myself sniffing it for longer than I probably should. I'm weird, I know. I'm curious about the tinted aspect of this because it just seems like a clear balm, so we'll see if it works!

Now we have the bareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow Broad Spectrum SF 15 and I think I got the color Barely Nude. Oy vey that's a long name for a product! I have to say though that this is a really tiny sample. Reminds me of the free samples they give out when you order something online. I will try this because I'm curious to see how it performs and because I like the bareMinerals brand.

The last product is the Clear Clinic Laboratories Vanished Clear Spot Treatment. I'm kinda terrified to use this because I took one whiff of this stuff and it smells like straight up alcohol! I know spot treatments are typically drying, but if something smells this strong of alcohol, I'm most likely not putting it anywhere near my face! I'm gonna have to research the ingredients in this more.

Kind of a meh bag this month but Ipsy usually redeems itself if I don't like a bag. If you want an Ipsy bag yourself sign up here! It's only $10 a month, plus shipping for some, and you get 4 to 5 sample products in each bag!

If you're already subscribed to Ipsy, what did you receive in your bag?

Ulta Haul!

Hey guys! I know, another haul. I was trying out a spending ban, but failed miserably! Ulta was having a 40% off sale on some different brands, and there was a palette that I wanted since before it came out. Plus if you spent $60, you got an extra 300 points, which is pretty awesome. Anyways, lets see what goodies I got!

Thanks to Kate Spitz' review, I was dying to get the Lorac Pro 2 Palette even more so than I had thought. I'm obsessed with the original palette, so naturally I had to get this sometime, and while Ulta was having a sale with extra points, I figured it was time. I have yet to play with the colors, but I plan on doing a separate review and possibly some looks.

Now I mentioned a few of the brands sold at Ulta were 40% off so I had to take advantage of that sale. Neutrogena was one of them and I did buy their Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover. Sorry it's not pictured, I forgot! It's pretty much my favorite eye makeup remover next to the Lancome Bi-Facil. That stuff is mucho expensive, so this is a great alternative!

I really wanted to try the L'Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara pretty much since it came out as well. I think the idea behind it is so cute and I've heard mixed reviews so I'm excited to try it and see what I think. I didn't really NEED this since I have a ton of mascaras to use, but I may bust this open sooner than some of my others I have. I had a code for 20% off of one item and this was the item that got the extra discount.

I was curious about the NYX Butter Lipsticks even though I'm not a huge lipstick girl. I ended up with the colors Cotton Candy and Fizzies. Alot of the colors were sold out so it was slim pickings, but I'm still excited to try these. I hear good reviews overall, so I have high hopes.

I definitely had to pick up another one of the NYX Butter Glosses and I ended up with Peaches and Cream. Again, alot of these were sold out and the one I really wanted was so I chose this instead. I haven't tried this particular one yet, but I'm already a huge fan of these glosses.

The last product I purchased is the NYX High Definition Photo Concealer Wand and I got the color Fair. I've heard good thing about this concealer and I'm always looking for a good one. With the discount it only came to $3, so even if I don't like it, it's not a huge loss.

What are some things you hauled recently?

June 2014 Empties

Hey guys! It's time for one of my favorite posts, empties! I love reading these and watching YouTube videos of products that have been used up. I may be weird, but it's incredibly satisfying using up products. I didn't use up quite as much as I have in the past few months, but here is what I did use up!

Starting with haircare, the first product I used up is the Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo. I always go through shampoo way faster than conditioner, so that's still in my shower! I absolutely loved this shampoo! I featured this and the conditioner back in a favorites post here and basically I just think this is amazing. It made my hair feel soft and fluffy, and took ages to go through since the bottle is so huge.

Next up we have the Rusk Sensories Full Green Tea and Alfalfa Shampoo. My husband was the main person using this, but I used it every once in a while. It was nice, smelled good too, but wasn't amazing. It's one of those shampoos that doesn't lather much, so I felt like I had to use more to make my hair feel clean.

Last product for hair is the best dry shampoo to ever exist, Batiste Dry Shampoo in the Tropical scent. I've had these in multiple empties posts and my original review of it is here. The post is over a year old, but I still get views on it!

Now for some healthcare stuff! I used up a Crest Complete Toothpaste in the Wintergreen flavor. Honestly, I didn't care for this much. It did its job, but I have really sensitive teeth so I have to use a sensitive toothpaste, which this one is not. I think I only bought it because it was inexpensive and I wanted to try something different.

Then we have some vitamins from Nature Made. Nature Made vitamins are my favorite brand for some reason. Their prices are reasonable, and drugstores usually have deals for buy 1, get 1 free and they also have multiple coupons available. I recently stocked up at Walgreens and paid just under $20 for 4 bottles of vitamins. They'll last me a while too. Anyways, I used up a Super B-Complex which is supposed to help with energy and D3 which is good for people who don't get much sun (I'm practically a vampire).

Lastly is skincare. I used up the L'Occitane Moisturizing Lip Balm. This has to be one of the best lip balms ever! I looked it up on Sephora recently and at first I couldn't find it, but it looks like they changed the packaging to a squeeze tube. Anyways, this stuff is really hydrating and it doesn't leave a slick look to the lips, it's mainly matte, which makes for a great base under lipsticks and pigmented glosses.

Next up we have the Murad Soothing Gel Cleanser. Honestly, I wasn't much of a fan of this. It cleaned alright but I just didn't like it. Won't be repurchasing!

The Body Shop's Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner is a Godsend for my super oily skin in the Summer! This is a bottle I had leftover from the end of last Summer or beginning of Fall. It's way too harsh in the colder months, but I absolutely love using this in the morning to get rid of any excess oils from the night before.

Next is another Murad product and it's the Essential-C Eye Cream with SPF 15. This stuff was great! It's just a tiny sample size I had but it lasted me a good 3 weeks or so. The full size of this costs a whopping $69 but I feel it may be worth it. It left my eye area feeling hydrated but not oily, and I suffer from greasy eyelids too! Murad, why you be so expensive?!

Last product I used up is the infamous Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. I have a review of this here and basically I think it's not worth the hype. Some people love it, and that's all fine and dandy, but I won't waste my money on this again. I'll use up the other small jar and little sample tube I have though, but I won't repurchase!

That's everything I used up! Hopefully next month we have some makeup since it's been a while! What did you use up last month?

June 2014 Favorites

Hey everyone! This past month wasn't too exciting product wise. I was pretty sick for most of June and I think I mentioned in my last post or the one before that I was doing physical therapy for my back. I'm still in physical therapy and I'm still trying to get over what I was sick with. Fun times, man! Anyways, there were a few products that did stand out this past month, so here they are!

My first favorite is the Clarisonic Skincare Gentle Hydro Cleanser. This came in a kit when I got my Clarisonic for my 21st birthday. It's been hanging in my stash for a while but it works great! This cleanser says it's good for all skin types and sensitive skin. It's a very creamy cleanser, but doesn't make my skin feel more oily, if anything it's helping to balance it out. I use this at night and a few times a week I'll use it along with my Clarisonic. I love how it makes my skin feel and it takes makeup off amazingly well. Buying it on its own costs $25, which to me is a bit pricey for what it is.

My next favorite is the Ole Henriksen Walnut Complexion Scrub. This scrub is fantastic! It smells so fresh and clean, but the scrubbing action is where it's at! It has the perfect amount of scrub to where it feels like it's doing something and it makes my skin look happy and glowing. This is a little 1 ounce container that came in a skincare sampler kit, and I'm seriously considering buying the full size of this, I love it so much! The full size product is 1.7 ounces and costs $24.

Next up we have the Nars Blush in the infamous Orgasm shade. Everyone and their dog has either talked about or seen this product before so I won't go into how wonderful it is. I love it on my fair skin and it was pretty much the only blush I used all month when I wore makeup.

My last favorite is the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I kinda stopped using this when I was going through all my makeup trying to use up different products. I fell back in love with this and the Naked 2 (which I can't find right now!) when I was doing my makeup one day, and used this for most of the month.

What products did you love in June?
